Dave L forgot to blame Bush for: Global warming, the oceans rising, hurricane Ike, GM collapsing, the deterioration of our teenagers, the pregnancy of the VP's daughter that Karl Rove picked (great pick Karl!!), polar bears dying in the north, ... and the rotten cheese in Quebec. (I am sure I forgot a few.)
-------------------
I don't know what Obama will do as president. He has changed his mind on just about every issue. He is a blank slate. I will be patient and see what happens.
Ok ... he picked Emanuel (as pro Israel as it gets?! why? because he is Jewish??? what do you know about Emanuel's history in the Clinton administration?)
and also picked Malley to talk to Syria and Egypt. Those are his choices. It is far too early to tell what this man will do or what will result.
With McCain - we could be pretty sure what he would do on most issues. With Obama --- I have no idea.
No drilling for oil? Or some drilling?
taxes for those earning over 250K? 200K? Or no taxes? heavy taxes for exxon and a bailout for GM?
(makes sense I guess to someone - not to me) no free trade with Columbia? What with Canada - changing nafta - rewarding the unions? nuclear energy? coal or no coal? clean coal?
talking to iran/syria/ or preventing a nuclear weapon? finding Bin Laden? (before or after he makes the US energy independent without using carbon based fuels? I would bet he has more luck with the latter first.) getting out of Iraq quickly --- without/with turning it into a terrorist haven? closing Guantanamo and sending the prisoners back to ??? where? perhaps Bin Laden will take them back as no other country wants them. Or will he lock the prisoners up in the US so they can get parole and live on the streets of the USA?
remaking the american image - does everyone like americans now? (I hope so --- I always have!)
-----------------
So I will be patient and watch carefully and wait and see what Obama does.
.........it would be interesting for Dave L to make some predictions on these policies and also predictions on which will succeed. We can then look at them as the years go by.
It would be very interesting to have a calm discussion about the problems obama faces and how he will deal with them --- not how everything in the world is bush's fault.
